Application certificate renewal T-CAT

The AOC Consortium sends two e-mails warning of the expiry of the certificates, one to the holder and the other to the head of the body's service that existed at the time of issuing the specific T-CAT certificate. These emails are sent 60 days before the certificate expires and if it has not yet been renewed with the same information after 30 days, a new notice is sent.

When the first of these emails is received, the certificate is already in the renewal period and, therefore, a new one can be requested through EACAT , whenever possible.

Steps to follow:

1. Access the EACAT specifically in Procedures>Consorci AOC>Digital Certification Service> T-CAT: Request and renewal of application certificates

2. In the "Initial information " tab, choose the certificate to be renewed and then "Save draft"

application__1_.png

3. In the "Request data" tab you can write the data of the certificate to be renewed (the tool will automatically detect the certificate)

Important : Check that the data is correct, since once you have processed the request and delivered the T-CAT application certificate, if the data on the certificate is incorrect it will have to be revoked

4. In the “Request notices” tab, the data and address of the AOC Consortium will appear by default (It must not be modified)

5. Then send the request for signature using the "Send for signature" button. The user with the role of applicant for personal certificates and the data certifier must sign the submission from EACAT/My procedures/To sign, pressing the "Sign" button.

The request will be registered in EACAT and in the hands of the Registration entity it will have to carry out its generation.

Note: Both the old and the new certificate will coexist with full functionality until the previous one expires. Therefore, it is advisable to renew the certificates as soon as the last 60 days of their life begin.

Revocation of application certificate T-CAT

The revocation is an irreversible state and means definitively invalidating a digital certificate. See the FAQ How to revoke my T-CAT?

The revocation of a certificate can be requested by:

  • The person in charge of the service and the applicant for certificates of the entity subscribing to the certificate.
  • The T-CAT registry entity that issued the certificate
  • The AOC Consortium, as a provider of digital certification services

Steps to follow:

1. Access the EACAT , specifically in Procedures>Consorci AOC>Digital Certification Service> T-CAT: Request for revocations

2. In the "Initial information " tab, the revoke certificates option is already selected, so click "Save draft" to continue.

3. In the "Request data" tab, you can write the data of the certificate to be revoked (the tool will detect the certificate automatically), or you can search for the certificate with the magnifying glass.

Fill in the following information:

  • "Name" or "NIF/NIE" of the certificate to be renewed.
  • The status of the certificate. which in our case is "Valid" by default, given that if it is expired or revoked it cannot be renewed.
  • Select the "Type of certificate"

Click on "Search"

Once the certificate appears select it and click "Select" to continue.

4. In the tab "Communications of the request" select the reason for revocation and then "Next"

The main reasons for revocation are:

  • Compromise of the information contained in the certificate (for example change of subscriber data)
  • Compromise of key or certificate security (e.g. suspected fraudulent use of certificate or PIN and PUK)
  • Compromise of the cryptographic device (eg loss or inoperability of the cryptographic device)
  • Reasons relating to the subscriber or the key holder (for example end of the subscriber's contractual relationship or change of the subscriber's data)
  • Inclusion in the list of prohibited subscribers (for example inclusion of a subscriber in the list of prohibited subscribers)
  • others

5. Then send the request for signature using the "Send for signature" button. The user with the role of applicant for personal certificates must sign the submission from EACAT/My procedures/To sign, by pressing the "Sign" button.

The request will be registered in EACAT and in the hands of the Registration entity it will have to carry out its generation.
