PIN lock
The PIN is a numeric security code that protects the use of the digital certificate to ensure that only the certificate holder can use it to sign or authenticate.
If you have blocked your PIN , you can unblock it as follows:
1. Enter the T-CAT in the reader.
2. Go to Windows Start - All Programs - Bit4id PKI Manager. (For other operating systems consult the Bit4id User Manual ).
3. Click the Unlock PIN option
4. Enter the PUK of the card and the new PIN. The new PIN must be between 4 and 16 alphanumeric digits.
PUK blocking
The PUK is the Personal Unblocking Code and is used to unlock the digital certificate after the PIN code has been entered incorrectly three times.
If you have blocked the PUK, unfortunately the card has been completely disabled for your security. Therefore, you will need to revoke your T-CAT and then have the person responsible for Digital Certification of your organization request a new one.
If you don't know who the person responsible for Digital Certification of your organization is, you can check it at the beginning of EACAT, on the right-hand side:
