If you need to check if your certificate is working, if it's installed correctly or simply if it's still valid, then you have different tools available to make checks.

Check the correct installation - Functional test

Important note: This website is not accessible in Firefox.

In order to check the correct installation of a certificate, you must follow the following steps:

  1. Have the operational certificate:
    • If it is in software, you will have it installed in the internet browser (Chrome, Edge... etc.)
    • If it is on a device (card or USB stick), you will have it connected to your computer.
  2. Once step 1 has been confirmed, access the website https://scd.aoc.cat/test/certificat/ with the browser where you have T-CAT installed. Keep in mind that the URL calls the certificate directly, so if you don't have the certificate available in the browser you're taking the quiz on, the page will give you an error.
  3. If you have more than one certificate, you will be asked to select the one you want to check.
  4. When the page loads, you will be shown information about the certificate.

Viewing the results page confirms that the certificate and the software to use it, if applicable, are working properly. In addition, on the page you can see the basic information about it (pay special attention to the final date of validity).

Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP)

The OCSP protocol (Online Certificate Status Protocol (RFC 2560) allows validating the status of a digital certificate more efficiently than through the verification of Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL).

All certificates issued by the AOC Consortium include a reference to the OCSP validation service. This allows automated validation of certificate status through this protocol.

Certificates that sign OCSP responses

In case of simple validations, i.e. validations of a single certificate, the OCSP validation response is signed by the OCSP response certificate corresponding to the hierarchy to which the certificate to be validated belongs.

In case of multiple validations, validations of multiple certificates at once, the OCSP validation response is signed by the corresponding OCSP response certificate at the root of the hierarchy.
