The EACAT Digital Certification Service is aimed at public administrations that use the AOC Digital Certification Service, both those that send digital certificate requests directly to AOC and those that are associated with a T-CAT Registration Entity (eg; County Council).
Who can apply for T-CAT digital certificates through EACAT?
Requests can be created by the person who has the role of publisher or requester reported in the Subscriber Form. ( This form is sent through EACAT ).
- Editor role functions: Person who will be able to fill out certificate applications in EACAT and leave them pending signature by the applicant and/or certifier as the case may be.
- Applicant role functions: People who authorize the issuance of certificates requested from your organization. The signature of one of these people will be required for each of the T-CAT personal requests.
What procedures related to the Digital Certification Service can be carried out through EACAT?
The procedures related to the Digital Certification Service that can be carried out through the EACAT are:
- T-CAT: Request and renewal of personal certificates
- T-CAT: Request for revocations
- T-CAT: Application and renewal of application certificates
- T-CAT: Application and renewal of pseudonym or representative certificates
How do you create a request through EACAT?
1. To request a certificate through EACAT , access EACAT ( www.eacat.cat ), section “Processes>Consorci AOC>Digital Certification Service" and select the type of certificate to request (personal or application).
2. Once in the process, in the “ Initial information ” tab you will need to choose the type of certificate to request ( certificate catalog ) and then “Save draft”:
Note: You can apply for the T-CAT with a Spanish ID card or a NIE.
3. In the “Request details” tab, you will need to add the mandatory certificate details using the “Add” button and once completed, click “Accept” and then “Next” to move to the next tab:
Important : Check that the data entered is correct, since once the application has been processed and delivered, if the data on the certificate is incorrect it will have to be revoked.
4. In the “Application Statements” tab, the postal address for sending the certificate(s) and documentation will appear by default (which can be modified if you wish).
5. Then send the request for signature using the “Send for signature” button. The user with the role of personal certificate applicant and the data certifier must sign the submission from EACAT/My procedures/To sign, pressing the “Sign” button.
If there is no error in the request, the request will be registered in EACAT and in the hands of the Registration Entity responsible for generating it.

What is the status of a certificate request?
The entity's Service Manager will need to access the Subscriber Folder and click on the option Delivery and management of certificates>Certificate status and perform the query as indicated in section 2.6 of the Subscriber Folder Manual .
The delivery period for certificates issued by the Consortium Registration Entity AOC is a maximum of 16 working days from the date of arrival of the correctly completed and signed documentation, except for pseudonym and representative certificates which will be a maximum of 20 working days. If you opt for the urgent service, the period will be four working days and is limited to five requests per entity and week. In the case of pseudonym and representative certificates, the urgency will only apply to renewals or in the event of loss, theft, etc.
How to make personal T-CAT requests with mass upload?
The EACAT allows requests for a minimum of 10 certificates and a maximum of 50 through bulk upload, as long as they are certificates of the same type and have the same shipping address.
1. To make a mass certificate request through EACAT , access EACAT ( www.eacat.cat ), section "Processes>Consorci AOC>Digital Certification Service" and select the type of personal certificate.
2. Once in the process, in the “ Initial information ” tab you will need to choose the type of certificate to request ( certificate catalog ) and then “Save draft”:
3. In the "Request data" section you will find the option to import a file to upload the data.
When you download the file, you will have to fill out an excel sheet with the requested data:
Once you have filled out the Excel, you will have to upload it to EACAT by clicking on the icon of a sheet with an arrow pointing upwards:
Important :
- Check that the data entered is correct, since once the application has been processed and delivered, if the data on the certificates is incorrect they will have to be revoked.
- Requests must be of the same profile type
- Requests must be sent to the same service manager and the same shipping address in the case of T-CAT on Card
- Requests must have the same priority

How to renew a digital certificate through EACAT?
Both the old and new certificates will coexist with full functionality until the previous one expires. Therefore, it is advisable to renew the certificates as soon as the last 60 days of their life begin.
1. To make a certificate renewal request through EACAT , access EACAT ( www.eacat.cat ), section “Processes>Consorci AOC>Digital Certification Service" and select the type of certificate to renew (personal or application).
2. Once in the process, in the “ Initial information ” tab you will need to choose the type of certificate to renew ( certificate catalog ) and then “Save draft”:
3. In the “Request details” tab, you can write the details of the certificate to be renewed yourself (the tool will automatically detect the certificate), or you can search for the certificate with the magnifying glass .
If you select the magnifying glass option, the following screen will open:
Fill in the following information:
- “Name” or “NIF/NIE” of the certificate to be renewed.
- The status of the certificate, which in our case is “Valid” by default, since if it is expired or revoked it cannot be renewed.
- Select the “Certificate Type”
Click on “Search”
Once the certificate appears, select it and click “Select” to continue.

How to revoke a digital certificate?
Revocation is an irreversible state and means definitively invalidating a digital certificate. Consult the FAQ How to revoke my T-CAT?
Revocation of a certificate can be requested by:
- The person responsible for the service and the certificate applicant of the entity subscribing to the certificate.
- The T-CAT registration authority that issued the certificate
- The AOC Consortium, as a provider of digital certification services
